You’re a repeat customer and the restaurant managers will be more likely to listen to you. Seriously, this simple action will make a big impact for our community. Share it with your friends too so they can do the same!
Who would you be helping?
- 32 million Americans and 3 million Americans that suffer from food allergies and celiac disease
- their friends or family that wish they could dine out safely with their loved ones
- the children that feel left out regularly at restaurant social gatherings
Why we need your help? Because it takes a village.
One of the toughest parts about having celiac disease and food allergies is dealing with the social ramifications. I can speak from experience as a parent of a child with celiac disease. It is very difficult to go out to restaurants that aren’t entirely gluten free as the staff often doesn’t have the proper training.
We have had many incidents at restaurants where we were assured the food was safe, only to end up at the hospital. It shouldn’t have to be this way.
My daughter and the millions of others living with celiac disease and food allergies shouldn’t have to worry that any time they go to a restaurant that they might get sick, need emergent medical care, or feel left out when they can’t eat anything. It’s not right, and you can help.
The 35 Million Reasons to Get Food Allergen Training flyer lists the why and how in a simple and easy to read handout. I included AllerTrain’s information at the bottom so that restaurant owners and managers don’t have to do the research to find out how to get training. You may have heard about AllerTrain from the press regarding their successful training of Cornell University’s staff. For those of you that don’t know about AllerTrain, they’re the leader in food allergy and gluten free training of the food services industry, they have trainers throughout the country, and they have all different price points making it affordable for everyone.
Thank you in advance for printing out the flyer and bringing it into restaurants. Please also share it with anyone else that might be willing to do the same.
