4th of July is right around the corner, and if you’re looking for last minute dessert ideas that are simple then I’ve got you covered! My favorite part about 4th of July is the quality time we get to spend with family and friends. I don’t want to spend the whole day inside my kitchen or at the grill while everyone else is having fun, so I like to keep it simple.
Here are four easy 4th of July desserts you can prep ahead or make in minutes on the 4th! Plus, they’re all kid-friendly recipes so you can make them together or put your kids in charge of these desserts. They’re all gluten free and vegan, and most are nut free as well.
Easy 4th of July Desserts
Fireworks Fruit Wands
Fireworks Fruit Wands are ready in minutes, and all you need is fresh fruit, wooden skewers, and a star cookie cutter. I like to use fresh blueberries, watermelon and pineapple, but you can really mix and match them with your favorite red, white and blue fruit. My favorite part is the excited look on my kids’ faces when they finished making them. I hadn’t realized until they pointed it out, but they really do look like magic wands which my kids thought was the coolest thing ever!
Red White & Blue Popsicles (Healthier Rocket Pops)
Red White and Blue popsicles are a make ahead dessert, or one that your kids can make throughout the day when they need mini breaks from the sun. You can find the recipe for Red White & Blue Popsicles here.
Patriotic Parfaits
It really doesn’t get easier than this! Rotate small glasses with layers of blueberries, 2 ingredient coconut frosting (or you can buy some Coco Whip at the store in the frozen aisle), and strawberries or raspberries. For extra fun, you can add a star-shaped piece of watermelon on top!
Red, White & Blue Strawberries
These beauties have only five ingredients and the whipped cream is homemade and refined sugar free! So, this is a dessert on the healthy side which is always appreciated with all of the eating that typically takes place on the 4th! Get the simple Red White & Blue Strawberries recipe.
