Milton’s Gluten Free Baked Chips & Crackers

Milton’s recently sent me a selection of their gluten free baked chips and crackers with the request that I write an honest review about their products. While I received their chips and crackers for free, the opinions I will share here are my own, and those of a friend who is able to eat dairy.

I first tried Milton’s chips when I went to the Gluten Free Expo in Atlanta in May. I really liked the chips, to the point that I actually finished a bag of the Himalayan Salt chips in my room later that day. I know, you’re not supposed to eat them all at once, but I couldn’t help myself! So when they sent me more to try, I was excited. Their products are certified gluten free, and made up of non-GMO real food ingredients that are free of gluten, soy, egg, tree nuts and peanuts. The chips are also dairy free (except for nacho cheddar), but their crackers contain dairy.

A girlfriend of mine got together with me and had a taste testing party so that I could taste the dairy free chips and she could taste the nacho cheddar chips and baked cracker varieties. Overall, we really liked the flavors and appreciate the healthy ingredients. My kids gave the Himalayan Salt and Sea Salt chips a big thumbs up too. Here are the details on what we thought about Milton’s gluten free baked chips and crackers.

Milton’s Gluten Free Baked Chips

Milton’s makes five varieties of gluten free chips, each of which is made up of a blend of corn, brown rice, chickpeas, and lentils. The flavors are:

  • Himalayan Salt
  • Sea Salt
  • Red Chili Salsa
  • Green Chili Salsa
  • Nacho Cheddar

I was able to try all of them, except for the nacho cheddar since it contains dairy. My favorite was the Himalayan Salt. I loved cooking with Himalayan salt and so the robust flavor called to me right away. It’s a chip that can stand alone, or be used to dip in salsas or guacamole easily.

The Sea Salt ones are good as well, with the main differences being that the flavor is more mild and the chip seemed a bit thinner. The red and green chili salsa chips are great if you like some spice on your chips, with the red being the most spicy and the green chili more of a mild spicy flavor. I think that the chili salsa chips are a bit too spicy for young kids like mine, but I personally really enjoyed eating them. My friend enjoyed taste testing the nacho cheddar chips. She said that they taste great and are more filling, so she could snack on them confidently knowing that the ingredients are healthier and that she wouldn’t go overboard eating too many at once.

Milton’s Gluten Free Crackers

These crackers look really delicious, and hearty enough to top with cream cheese, hummus, bean dip, or cheese spread. The four flavors include:

  • Everything
  • Multigrain
  • Sea Salt
  • Cheddar Cheese

While they are gluten free certified, they contain milk. Since my family is dairy free, we weren’t able to try these and I once again trusted a friend to give me her honest feedback. Here’s what she had to say.

Her favorite crackers were the Multigrain flavor. She thought they were the heartiest, a bit thicker than the Everything crackers and better for dipping. She also liked the Sea Salt flavor, but felt that they would be best served with a pairing of a dip or spread on top. She said that the Everything and Nacho Cheese crackers had a strong flavorful taste and felt they would be best enjoyed by themself.

So, there you have it! If you would like to try Milton’s Gluten Free chips and crackers you can find them at a store near you using their online store locator. Happy snacking!
